Boise Tango

PERFECT EVENING FOR TANGO. Philip & Megan hosted a lovely Autumn Fete outdoors under a canopy of lofty trees. Tasty food was in abundance, including  special pesto pizza bites prepared by our hostess, quiche, brownies, decadent buttery cupcakes, and much more. Philip’s playlist highlighted nuevo and alternative music inspiring both dancing and socializing. We were happy to welcome guests from Hailey and Portland to the party. Check out the pictures.

TANGO FUNDAMENTALS CLASS CONTINUES TUESDAY.  Designed for both beginners and experienced dancers. Sept. 29th from 7:30-8:30 pm at Broadway Dance Center. $10 fee. No partner necessary. For further information, please contact Marge Dobie at 208-761-3954.

PRACTICA. Thursday, October 1st, 8-10 pm at Boise Cafe, 10th & Bannock. Enjoy dancing, music, and friendly conversation. All skill levels welcome, no partner necessary. DJ Marguerite. FREE Beginner lesson 7:30-8:00 pm – try tango for free and pay only if you stay for the Practica.  Fee $5.00, or $3.00 for seniors or with student ID.  Autumn Special! Bring someone new to tango and get a free pass to the next Practica.

This weekend! LUIZA PAES TANGO INTENSIVO, October 1-4. Classes explore adornments, new movements in tango, and finding the right connection. Classes are geared for beginning, intermediate, and advanced dancers. ARGENTINE TANGO NIGHT with the Vinyl Preservation Society on Wednesday, August 26th. All tango dancers are invited to the Modern Hotel Bar for the VPS monthly meeting where we’ll be demonstrating tango from 7:30 – 8:00 pm. The meeting starts at 7:00 pm, and the whole evening is free. Dance a little, listen to a terrific variety of music on vinyl, and have a drink at this quirky little bar. Contact Camille for more info.

Eighteen participants made wonderful progress in the Tango Fundamentals classes this month, with guided instruction by Marge Dobie and sponsored by the Boise Tango Society.
