ARGENTINE TANGO NIGHT at the Vinyl Preservation Society meeting.

  • Who should attend:  Any interested tango dancers!

  • When:  7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 26th. Demonstration from 7:30-8:00 pm

  • Where:  Modern Hotel and Bar, 1314 West Grove Street, Boise

  • Cost:  FREE — except for the fabulous cocktails they serve at the bar!

PRACTICA, Thursday, August 27th. Practice with fellow dancers from 8-10 pm. FREE lesson with Marge Dobie from 7:30-8 pm. DJ plays a mix of classic, nuevo and alternative tango music. $5 fee, or $3 for seniors or with student ID. Boise Cafe, 10th & Bannock in downtown Boise.

CLASS & PRACTICA, Monday, August 3rd with instructor Sarah Durney at 7:45 pm. Lesson on walking in close embrace followed by practica from 8:15-9:15 pm. $5 fee. Ashtanga Yoga Boise, 1011 Williams St. Contact Sarah at 340-4919 for more information.

TANGO FUNDAMENTALS CLASS, Tuesday August 4th with instructor Marge Dobie. 7:30-8:30 pm. For beginners and experienced dancers. $10 or $25 for 3-class session that begins this Tuesday. Broadway Dance Center, 893 E Boise Ave. Contact Marge at 761-3954 to register.

PRACTICA, Thursday, August 6th. Practice with fellow dancers from 8-10 pm. Marguerite DJ’s a mix of classic, nuevo and alternative tango music. $5 fee, or $3 for seniors or with student ID. Boise Cafe, 10th & Bannock in downtown Boise.

MILONGA. Saturday, August 8th, 9:00 pm – midnight. Take the heat inside and indulge in a little Argentine Tango! Then take a break from dancing to enjoy light refreshments and friendly socializing. For all these events, beginners are welcome, and no partner is necessary.

LESSONS WITH JENNIFER OLSON & LIVE MUSIC BY FOLIASMUSIC

JENNIFER OLSON, well-known Argentine Tango instructor and performer will teach two classes on Thursday, June 11th at the Boise Cafe, 10th & Bannock, downtown Boise. Sponsored by Tango Idaho Co-op and Boise Tango Society.

  • 6:30-7:30 pm Nuevo Boleos for intermediate & advanced dancers. $8 fee.

  • 7:30-8:30 pm Ultimate Improvisation for beginner & intermediate dancers. $8 fee.

Jennifer will also offer a Guided Practica on Monday, June 15th, at Ashtanga Yoga Boise, 1011 Williams St., Boise.

  • 7:00-9:00 pm  All Levels Practica Intensivo. $10 fee.

FOLIASMUSIC, traveling tango musicians visiting from Grand Rapids, Michigan will perform live tango music during the Practica from 9-10 pm. FREE admission!

MONDAY TANGO CLASSES FOR SUMMER

Sarah Durney offers classes for beginner and intermediate dancers through her studio, Ashtanga Yoga Boise. Drop-in classes are $10 each or four for $35.  Classes run from 7:45-8:45 pm followed by a practica until 9:30 pm. See the Calendar or CLICK HERE for more information.
