Our mission is to bring this wonderful dance to the local community.

Argentine Tango is the dance of emotion, passion and connection with your partner and the music. Tango is very much a dance of improvisation with the opportunity for each participant to learn and grow with the dance. Many say Tango is not just a dance, but a way of life.

Each month the Boise Tango Society offers many opportunities for dancers to learn, practice and enjoy Argentine Tango through Practicas (informal practice), Milongas (dance parties), classes, and workshops. Come join us!

Boise Tango Society members come together to practice, learn, and celebrate Argentine Tango in all its forms. About seven years ago a small group of people started Boise Tango Society with a few instructors and a small dance floor. Today the group is flourishing due to the volunteer efforts of group members who collaborate to sponsor events, teach, promote, and share the dance, and above all passionately enjoy the connection and beauty of dancing Argentine Tango.

“Argentine Tango is a dance comprised of more than just a series of steps or patterns. To dance Tango you must truly embrace the moment, the music, your partner, and joy in life. You will come to feel the pure emotion that brings you back for more. Even after dancing all night, feeling unable to stand any longer, but then hearing that ONE song you love more than anything … and rising to your feet and letting all your cares fade away in the connection with your partner and the music.”

Come meet an old friend with a smile, a nod, then a soft and very slow embrace, finding the beat in the music. Connecting with both music and partner, then letting yourself slip into the tides of the moment.

Come join us on the dance floor!
